Increase Your Web Traffic without Breaking the Bank

If you are like most webmasters, your goal is to increase your website's traffic in order to increase sales and ultimately revenue. But, you might be wondering how you can possibly perform a marketing campaign if you do not have much of an advertising budget. Fortunately, some of the best ways to increase your website traffic are free and will not break the bank. Read the following tips and implement them into your marketing plan to get more traffic to your website.

Tip #1 - Links

Links are very important for your website because as your incoming links increase, the search engines view your website as more important and award it with a higher ranking. When you receive high rankings there is more of an opportunity that you will receive increased traffic and more sales. As you can see, increasing the amount of links to your website on the Internet is very important. There are software programs that claim to do this for you, but it will be more successful and cheaper if you do it yourself.

Simply research a variety of quality websites that have a similar market base as your site, and contact the owners of those websites asking for a link and providing all the important information. Also, include a link to their site on your website and let them know you have done so. Give them adequate time to respond and if they do not link to you simply take their link off your site and keep working. You will receive a high success rate by trying to get links in this way and as a result a higher search engine ranking and more traffic.

Tip #2 - Keywords

Keywords are another way to increase your ranking in the search engines. All you have to do is conduct some research online and brainstorm as to the keywords that apply to your website and what words people will be using when searching for information on your niche. Then, you simply include these words in the title and first paragraphs of content on your web pages, spread the keywords throughout the content, and have each page focused on different and specific keywords.

The search engines will return your page as a result when those keywords are searched for and when you have more traffic you will have more sales, guaranteed. The great thing about keyword marketing campaigns is they are free if you are willing to do the work yourself.

Tip #3 - Pay per Click Advertising

This method of advertising is not completely free, although it only costs you money when someone clicks on your advertising. As a result, it is a cost effective way to advertise to Internet searchers and you only pay when your link is clicked on. This type of advertising is becoming very popular and does not cost much money to get started. If you have a small advertising budget and already have your website optimized with links and keywords then you should try pay per click advertising.
